Our commitment and approach to maintaining an accessible website

Roberts Wesleyan University is committed to the following:

  • Controls, Input: If non-text content is a control or accepts user input, then it has a name that describes its purpose.

  • Decoration, formatting, invisible elements.

  • Using ARIA landmarks to identify regions of a page.
  • Using aria-labelledby to name regions and landmarks.
  • Using semantic elements to mark up structure and semantic markup to mark emphasized or special text.
  • Using table markup to present tabular information.

  • All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes.
  • Manually tested using Silktide browser plugin on Chrome and Firefox and VoiceOver utility on the Mac operating system.
